Writers Talk 2008

writers talk 08 iconIn Writers Talk 2008, a resource for K–12 students, selected guest writers from the 2008 Sydney Writers’ Festival talk about their backgrounds, books and approaches to writing. Festival director Wendy Were also discusses the challenges of organising what has become the third-largest writers’ festival in the world. Related resources and teacher notes supplement the video interviews. The resource was produced by CLI in cooperation with Sydney Writers’ Festival and teachers from the NSW Department of Education and Training.

The writers read excerpts of their work and discuss the purpose and process of writing, the sources of their inspiration and their perspectives on issues of style. The program has wide application to the curriculum with relevance for English and other KLAs.
